I love being invited to talk at a book group, and Monday night was no exception.
This particular book group is located out in my old Yamhill County stompin’ grounds. It’s a women’s group, but due to the specialness of the occasion (moi) many husbands showed up as well. About 20 people including one very good friend, several acquaintances from the past, and a second cousin. There was plenty of wine and a table full of wonderful snacks.
Most of the members had read both books in the Emma Golden mystery series, so rather than a reading, we did Q&A for more than an hour. These folks were engaged. The questions were great. And we even got to talk about a lot of other authors, both mystery and non-mystery. This definitely was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.
If you area member of a book group within 40 miles of Portland, give a holler–email me or leave a message on Facebook. I’d be happy to attend your meeting at a mutually agreed upon time to talk about the Emma Golden mystery series, answer your questions, and even give you a few clues as to what’s going on in Emma’s life for Book #3 of the series.
There’s nothing to stop us from having as much fun as I had with these wonderful people on Monday night!
